Alternative and Augmentative Communication
Vingsted – Vingsted Skovvej 2, Bredsten
Following last year’s participation, AAGI was again exhibited at this domestic conference in Denmark.
This year, we did not attend from Japan. Instead, Mr. Kataoka, who serves as our coordinator, managed the exhibition as he did last year.
In addition to the exhibition and live demonstrations, two oral presentations for exhibitors were also given in Danish by Mr. Kataoka.
AAGI was exhibited at the following event:
Sillalla-seminaari 2026
Held on March 12–13, 2026, at Paasitorni in Helsinki, Finland.
Date: March 12–13, 2026
Venue: Paasitorni, Helsinki (also streamed online)
Theme: A two-day seminar focusing on current topics in communication support and developmental disability services
Organizer: Kehitysvammaliitto
This was the first time we exhibited AAGI at the Sillalla Seminar, a domestic conference in Finland.
The seminar focused on communication support for people with disabilities and featured lectures by well-known experts from Finland and abroad, along with exhibitions of assistive technologies.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the coordinator was unable to attend, so I managed the exhibition alone as the only Japanese exhibitor.
I did my best to give explanations in English!
Some of the presentations were also delivered in English, which made them easier to follow.
We have released the largest major upgrade to AAGI this year.
The main updates in this release include:
- Enhanced indicator functionality
- Improvements to the Front and Tongue modules, among others
The indicator functionality has been improved so that when using the smallest indicator, the focus is no longer unintentionally captured by the AAGI main window.
In addition, the algorithms for the Front module, Tongue module, and others have been refined and improved.
We gave the following research presentation at:
The 18th International Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe

This marked our fifth time exhibiting and presenting at the event.
During the oral presentation, we mainly introduced new features, including support for dual-camera operation.
This time, we upgraded AAGI to support dual-camera configurations.
The following four setup combinations are now available:
- 1 RealSense camera + 1 UVC camera
- 2 UVC cameras
- 1 RealSense camera
- 1 UVC camera
In particular, for users whose voluntary motor control is divided between the upper and lower body,
using two cameras increases the possibility of enabling more switch inputs.
Note: UVC cameras are supported only with the Slight module.

We exhibited AAGI at ISAAC conference in Denmark for the first time!
Although this is the first conference held in Denmark for us, we not only exhibited or demonstrated AAGI but also gave a presentation twice in English.
Representatives of 7-8 cities who certify Assistive Technologies listened to our presentation.
We appreciate the support of Mr.Kataoka who helped us as a coordinator.
We exhibited AAGI at Communication Matters 2023 in Leeds University, UK.

This is the fourth time exhibiting and presenting, and we actually felt that we had gained confidence.
Also, the introduction of new examples, the use of Steam of FIFA and the application to children having cerebral palsy, was interactively viewed with interest.
